What are the RTA requirements for Learner Drivers

1. The learner must be at least 16 years of age.
2. Study the Road Users’ Handbook issued by the Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) - Available FREE from the Roads and Traffic Authority website www.rta.nsw.gov.au
3. Pass a knowledge test (RTA fee applies)
4. Proof of Identity needed (eg. Full birth certificate)
5. Pass an eyesight test
6. Obtain a Learner’s Licence
7. Obtain a Learner Driver Log book
8. Minimum age for Provisional Licence is 17 years
9. Contact your local ABC Branch for lessons

An RTA fee applies for the Learner’s Licence which is valid for 3 years.
