No RTA Truck Driving Test Required

• Any rigid motor vehicle with 3 or more axles and a GVM of more than 8 tonnes.
• Any towed Trailer must not weigh more than 9 tonnes GVM.
• Ideal for interstate coach work, heavy haulage, demolition companies and agitators (concrete mixer/delivery trucks).

Most mining companies prefer applicants to have a HR Constantmesh licence.

What you need to get your HR (Constantmesh) Licence

• You need to have held a class C Licence (not including Learners) for two years or more. Second year of green P plates is acceptable.
• Must have current manual car driving experience.
• Pass an RTA HR Knowledge Test ($38 RTA fee)
• Pass an RTA Eyesight test
• At that time ask for a CBA (Competency Based Assessment) Logbook and CBA guide book. ($23 RTA fee)
• Contact ABC Driving School on 9676 1113 to book your 2 day HR Constantmesh course. Please have your Log Book with you when you call, as there are details within the Log Book which we require for processing your booking.
• A deposit of $400 is required to secure and confirm your booking.
• FAIR GO POLICY – At ABC Driving School Parramatta we realise that the cost of the HR course appears to be quite high. However, UNLIKE many other driving schools we do not ask for full payment up-front. The $400 deposit is like a safety net. Once you have received four hundred dollars-worth of training, you and your instructor will discuss your progress and possible options.
  • Option 1 – continue training and complete within the originally quoted 16 hours at $100 per hour - total cost $1600.
  • Option 2 – recognise that for you, 16 hours may not be enough, and you may choose to continue at only $100 per hour until you meet the course requirements - total cost greater than $1600.
  • Option 3 – recognise that for you, the Roadranger gearbox is proving to be more difficult to master than you had anticipated. You may choose to transfer to our HR Synchromesh model and acquire a Heavy Rigid Licence with a ‘B Restriction’ (for details see our HR Synchromesh webpage) - total cost $1600.
  • Option 4 – recognise that for you, the Heavy Rigid vehicle may not be necessary for your employment needs. Transfer to the MR Licence Class. (6-Speed Synchromesh) - total cost $400 PLUS MR Licence costs.
  • Option 5 – If you choose to do so, you are welcome to stop the course at this point, and incur no further costs. $400 is all you pay.

  THIS POLICY ONLY APPLIES TO STUDENTS ENROLED AT
  ABC DRIVING SCHOOL (WESTERN SUBURBS)

• The $400 deposit is non-refundable if you cancel without 72 hours notice OR you are assessed and found not to have current manual experience.
• After successfully finishing the course, return to your local RTA and exchange your completed Logbook for your upgraded Licence. (No RTA truck driving test required).
• MUST HAVE CURRENT Manual car (class C) driving experience.
• NOTE: Red P1 and Green P Plate holders in their first year are not eligible to apply for a HR Licence.
