HR (Heavy Rigid) Synchromesh Licence Upgrade Courses

2010 Model Mitsubishi Fuso Fighter 14 (9-Speed Eaton Gearbox)

Any rigid motor vehicle with 3 or more axles and a GVM of more than 8 tonnes.
Any towed trailer must not weigh more than 9 tonnes GVM.
Ideal for interstate coach work, heavy haulage, demolition companies and agitators (concrete mixer/delivery trucks).
Extensively used by large fleet operators with modern vehicles. Eg Linfox, Toll, Star Track Express.
HR Synchromesh trucks are fitted with Synchromesh gearboxes. This gearbox type is common in later model (less than 10 years old) HR class vehicles and is similar to driving a manual car. You will also be able to drive automatic HR vehicles with this licence upgrade. Please note that licences acquired using vehicles that are fitted with a Synchromesh or Automatic gearbox will be endorsed with a “condition B” restriction - (may only drive Automatic or Synchromesh gearbox).
THIS IS BECOMING COMMONPLACE FOR A HR LICENCE HOLDER. It will not restrict or limit your ability to drive MR, LR or class C vehicles.

Cost of training courses are substantially lower. ONLY $1200
Courses are conducted in one day – reducing the time you need for training.
Courses are offered 7 days a week.
2010 model vehicle fitted with a 9 speed EATON gearbox is available.
You have more time on the course to develop your road and reversing skills without the added stress of the Constantmesh (Roadranger) gearbox.
Our experience has shown us that trainees with class C, manual, car driving experience are more easily able to master this gearbox than double-declutching a Constantmesh (Roadranger) gearbox.
Very commonly found in European trucks as production/use of Constantmesh (Roadranger) is steadily declining.

You need to have held a class C Licence (not including Learners) for two years or more. Second year of green P plates is acceptable.
Must have current manual car driving experience.
Pass an RMS HR Knowledge Test ($40 RMS fee)(class HR)
Pass an RMS Eyesight test
At that time ask for a CBA (Competency Based Assessment) log book and CBA guide book. ($24 RTA fee)

A deposit is required to secure and confirm your booking.
This deposit will be deducted from the total course cost of $1200. This is non-refundable if you cancel without 72 hours notice or if you are assessed and found not to have current manual experience.
Please note additional hours (if required), beyond the one day course are charged at $120 per hour.
After successfully finishing the course, return to your local RMS and exchange your completed Logbook for your upgraded Licence. ($24 RTA fee)

NO RTA TRUCK DRIVING TEST REQUIRED

MUST HAVE CURRENT manual car (class C) driving experience.
NOTE: Red P1 and Green P Plate holders in their first year, are not eligible to apply for an HR Licence.
