 
- Any rigid motor vehicle with a GVM of more than 8 tonnes.
- Any towed trailer must not weigh more than 9 tonnes GVM.
- Number of Axles – 2 only.
- Ideal for service bus work, medium haulage, courier type work.
 Our MR trucks are fitted with Synchromesh gearboxes. This gearbox type is common in MR class vehicles and is as easy to drive as a manual car. You will also be able to drive automatic MR vehicles with this licence upgrade.  Please note that licences acquired using vehicles that are fitted with a Synchromesh or Automatic gearbox will be endorsed with a "condition B" restriction - (may only drive Automatic or Synchromesh gearbox). THIS IS NORMAL FOR AN MR OR LR LICENCE HOLDER. It will not restrict or limit your ability to drive MR, LR or class C vehicles, nor will it limit your employment options.
What you need to get your MR Licence- You need to have held a class C Licence (not including Learners) for one year or more. First year of green P plates is acceptable.
- Pass an RTA MR Knowledge Test (Class MR)
- Pass an RMS Eyesight test
- At that time ask for a CBA (Competency Based Assessment) Logbook and CBA guide book.
- Contact ABC Driving School to book your 1 day MR course. Please have your Logbook with you when you call, as there are details within the Logbook which we require for processing your booking.
- A deposit is required to secure and confirm your booking.
- This deposit will be deducted from your total course cost. This is non-refundable if you cancel without 72 hours notice.
- After successfully completing the course return to your local RMS and exchange your completed Logbook for your upgraded Licence. (No RMS truck driving test required).
- Must have Manual car (class C) driving experience.
- NOTE: Red P Plate holders are not eligible to apply for an MR Licence.
