Heavy Combination

At ABC Driving School we offer two Heavy Combination Licence Courses.

Our One Day Course is conducted in an automatic truck towing a pig trailer. The licence issued will have a condition ‘B’ meaning that you are entitled to drive both automatic and synchromesh gearboxes.

NOTE: If you already hold an unrestricted HR licence your ‘Roadranger’ entitlement will carry over to your new licence.

Our Two Day Course is conducted in an 18-speed Nissan UD towing a pig trailer. The licence issued will not be restricted. It is essential that you have current experience in a synchromesh transmission vehicle if you want to master this gearbox. In other words, you need to be able to drive a manual car!

  1. PASS THE HEAVY COMBINATION KNOWLEDGE TEST AT YOUR LOCAL MOTOR REGISTRY OR SERVICE NSW *PRACTICE THE TEST HERE* RMS FEE $48.
  2. PASS THE EYESIGHT TEST AND PURCHASE YOUR HVCBA LEARNERS LOGBOOK CLASS HC. RMS FEE $28.
  3. PHONE ABC DRIVING SCHOOL (ARNDELL PARK) 96761113 TO BOOK A DATE FOR YOUR HC LICENCE COURSE.
  4. ATTEND AND SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE YOUR TRAINING COURSE. YOUR ASSESSOR WILL GIVE YOU A CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCE.
  5. RETURN TO THE MOTOR REGISTRY, HAND IN YOUR CERTIFICATE AND APPLY FOR YOUR UPGRADED LICENCE. (NOTE YOU WILL BE GIVEN AN INTERIM LICENCE WHILE YOUR PLASTIC CARD IS PROCESSED. (SEE RMS WEBSITE FOR DETAILS) RMS FEE $28.
